Meet Dr Naya McKinnon

Hello, I am Dr. Naya McKinnon. Please allow me to introduce my patient care model to you:
Autoimmune conditions can lead to debilitating joint pain, stiffness, fatigue and many other symptoms. I understand the challenges and fears of having these symptoms. I am here to help you overcome these challenges so that you can once again enjoy your life. I believe in providing whole-person, integrative care, which is unique to each patient, depending on their needs. Due to the complex nature of autoimmune conditions, patients may have symptoms for years before developing a rheumatologic disease. It is extremely important that these symptoms are not dismissed. Before your first appointment, I will review your medical history and spend time listening to you. I will order any other appropriate testing you may need. If you are found to have a rheumatologic condition, we will work together to find the best plan suited to your individual needs.
I combine lifestyle and holistic therapies with necessary medications to avoid long term complications. We now know that unhealthy nutrition, stress, and other environmental triggers can lead to the development of autoimmune diseases. My customized approach may include dietary modifications, optimization of micronutrients, movement, lifestyle changes, stress reduction, mindfulness, and sleep regulation, in addition to disease modifying medications. I believe that this individualized approach allows your body to start its own natural healing process. I will help you in identifying and eliminating triggers in your daily life which may be causing high inflammation and intolerable symptoms. I will guide you to restore your long-term health by using medications to control your disease and natural options to help with symptoms which do not necessarily need medications. It is extremely important to me that I educate my patients about their diseases and teach them how to treat, prevent and minimize chronic damage.
